WRINKLES
It Is Helpful To Understand The Two Main Types Of Facial Wrinkles: Dynamic And Static.
Dynamic wrinkles form as a result of muscle motion, such as when we make facial expressions. When our facial muscles contract, the skin overlying these muscles stretches and folds. Youthful skin easily accommodates this motion, and bounces back after squinting, smiling or laughing.
Eventually our skin loses this ability, and the dynamic wrinkles begin to become more permanent (static). Nonsurgical treatments include paralytic agents such as BOTOX®, and fillers such as JUVEDERM® to replace volume. Optimal placement of these agents is more important than the quantities used.
