TEARING

Tearing is a common complaint, with many causes. The most common is (paradoxically) dry eye, however other common causes are related to eyelid positioning and the patency of the tear drainage system.  If an obstruction is present, its location will be identified in order to determine the best treatment.  Some potential treatments include irrigation, canalicular probing, punctoplasty, nasolacrimal duct intubation, and/or dacryocystorhinostomy (DCR).
