BELL’S PALSY / 7TH NERVE PALSY
Bell’s Palsy and 7th Nerve Palsy both involve a partial paralysis of the face. Due to difficulty closing the eye it is important to protect the cornea in the short term with topical lubrication and patching the eye at night. Depending on the cause the symptoms may improve over time. There are several temporary non-surgical treatments that can help improve function of the eyelid, but long-term paralysis may require surgery.
